What I'd like to know is how can you use an airtag in an already potted plant? I'm sure it can't get wet. We had two plants stolen and I'm thinking of trying this.

They really need to stop trying to market these things to houseplant collectors. Market them to the granola crunchy people who don’t already have houseplants but think this will make their families healthier than just opening a window.

This isn't proplifting. Proplifting is snagging small pieces that broke off so you can propagate them later. These pieces would have been thrown out otherwise. This is straight up theft

Over all a lot of information condensed in a short video. But I think you you really missed the mark with this video because you misunderstood many information from the publicaton. Monstera tacanaensis is now considered a distant species and some of the specimens that had previously been identified as Monstera deliciosa var. borsigiana are in fact M. tacanaensis. However, this doesn't mean that all small rather vining plants belong to this species. Therefore M. tacanaensis is NOT the same as M. deliciosa var. borsigiana. As the authors concluded, Monstera deliciosa stays a very diverse species even now that M. tacanaensis was excluded. But since they did not really comment on the identity of Monstera deliciosa var. borsigiana (they only mentioned that it probably makes sense to continue using this name in horticulture), I really don't understand why you would use this publication to discuss the small form and even use it as an argument that there are clear differences, in my opinion this just adds to the confusion. It is also not "scientifically wrong" to use the term Monstera (deliciosa var.) borsigiana, it is just not accepted by the majority of authorities. Additional things that caught my attention is that you showed the type specimen for the Sierrana variation in the beginning. Also Koch naming the plant Monstera borsigiana implies this smaller variation to be a distinct species.

Not sure if you read these comments, but have you found anything backing up the claims people are making that the Tokyo system was based off of the mold? Because as far as I can tell, you are correct that it simply replicated it.

They do. However even inter nodal Spacing can be misleading. Due to lighting conditions and position of growth (upright ) it can have bigger spacing even if it’s LF. BUT of you look at the petiole/sinus it will have “ripples” where it meets the leaf if it’s a large form. 💓 I have a SF Aurea that’s leaves are huge but it’s still a small form. And vice versa.

Is it possible for leaves with complete variation on one side to last as long as regular leaves? Like strawberry cream syngonium with all pink on the top portion of the leaf and green on the bottom portion.

Man made variegations, ai content...i would never pay full price for something that is not natural and hand made with care, time and selection. Many of these induced variegations revert back to green when propagates or not enough light is available or they are just not as healthy and strong as the orginal.

Yes, they definitely need to put some of their cleaning powder into the their own white paper data. And on top of the "data", if you want to really help purify the air, why use a small leaved plant...bigger leaves are where it's at...imho

i find this highly unlikely. "similar" is somewhat plausible but still unlikely. "identical" is not plausible at all tho. the mold doesn't have the same obstacles we do so taking routes identical to ours wouldn't be the most "efficient". it's free terrain for the mold unlike us.
